My First time in USA

Firstly, I was very busy for a few weeks... so was kind of away from the blogworld. Well I was in Hyderabad for official reasons for 2 weeks, now this was coz i had to come to USA. Had some training, so was in hyd for 2 weeks. I had to be in US by monday, so left India on Saturday - 9-Jul-05. Will never forget the date, coz of many reasons...

Well i had never seen an airport in my lifetime, and i had to change 4 flights. This was really scary. What if i lost my baggage??? What if there is any problem?? What if i face problems during immigration?? i had all these fears. We reached the airport quite early, I was so anxious... My family was there, but still i was so tensed that dint speak to them properly.

My first flight was to Mumbai from Blore. I was so scared of this itself. But then how those 1.5 hrs...dint realize. Luckily i got a window seat. Saw blore from such a height... felt like i am on top of he world. So much lights... and everything was so nice and beautiful....Well finally landed in Mumbai and then.... off to the international airport after a little confusion...

This flight was till Paris and then after the stop over it was to NY...Well till to Paris was good...There were 2 movies..well i slept for the first movie, then watched the secind.... we finally reached Paris after a long journey...Well in Paris we had nearly 2 hrs of stop over... we never realized how those 2 hours went by as we had to go thru a lot of security check.... the whole time we had to go from one terminal to another.... from one gate to another...was just so fed up with that... but then finally the flight started off from Paris.....

We reached NY around 12.30 PM on Sunday... I was so tensed... scared....would everything go fine..I was very excited about all this... and then finally from NY...went to Atlanta...then finally reached Macon...

My proj mates came and picked me up from the airport.... it is quite a beautiful places... not many people around....no people on road.... lots n lots of cars... it finally sunk into me.... I have reached US... and this was my first time in US...

Aarthy,

I can realy relate to all this coz I experienced the same just about a month back, and u know that.

I had to learn the theory of immigration, security clearance etc... so that I do really mess up when i am there in the airport. Luckily my boss who holds a green card was with me, and so it turned a lil easy for me.

In fact, i was in the same flight, but there were 4 stops inbetween. And I managed to see a total of 13 movies while flying. :o)

So, how long are you gonna be there ? Whenz u gonna be back ? Am sure you wud write a travelogue, the one that I really did not know how to write.

Have fun and enjoy your stay :o)

Hey,

Welcome back Arathi.

US!! That's so nice!

I've never travelled via air. I hope I get some good onsite projects too, after an year I'm in the s/w industry.

Nice post :) Post more experiences about the people there, the different lifestyles, things you miss, things you'd like to be introduces in India and stuff. I'd love to read it.

And yes, the entry I posted about TCS - It doesn't have any confidential info about the company. It's just a summary of the Q1 results that TCS posted at its Investor's Relation section on its website. Nothing confidential at all. And the rest were my opinions.

But you seem to be expereinced, so please inform me with what was wrong with that post. :) I may be wrong.
