Festivals are something which i miss a lot!!!
My fav is Krishna Janmashtmi. I just love that festival... May be coz it is one of the festival which we celebrate on a grand scale.. with decorations and stuff...
I used to get up in the morning... and do all these decorations... with mom... Me n mom used to have so much fun!!!
That was one day where i used to do a kind of Vrat... Not even drink a drop of water... And only after the pooja got over at night around 8 or 9..eat or drink...
Then the next day invite all relatives n neighbours and friends
So its 2 full days of exitement and colours and people...
This time it becomes something like Navarathri... So many Dolls... But this festival its only Krishna..Krishna... and Krishna..
This is the Meera... I just love this doll.. The face is very innocent and so cute and so pure...
Well i missed all this time.. but all these pics were of the festival which happened this year... And thanks to my friend who sent all these to me... :)

Jaana tha Japan...Pahunch gaye Cheen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow!!! So many friends are getting married. I am so happy for them... but till July... nothing happ... and now that i am so far off... they all r getting married....
Its been more than 2 years since we have left college... and havent met quite a few since then... only contact is thru... phones...mails...chats....
Few people there is no contact....not that we spoke to all in class that much...
and now... someday i hear my friends say... my parents are looking for a guy.... he is this he is that... i dont want to marry such a guy...
Other friend says... hey talk to him properly and then decide...its ur life's decision afterall... Then once the marraige is fixed (this happens after months later with some other guy)... We finally bombard the girl with questions... How is he??? y did u like him??? what was special in him??? and then ofcourse we tease her...
Well i am doing the same with another friend of mine too... he is a guy, but as of now only his close friends know abt his marraige getting fixed... (me being one of the closest friend)... So obv... my opinion counts(hehe... naah... )...but he did want to know abt his selection... So me mailing that girl... Being friends with her too.. :D
So lots of such stuff going on.... Well whenever i come to know one of my friends are getting married... I get so excited... Never realized when we grew so much...when we matured to take up so much of responsibility...
Noooooooooooooo I dont want to be mature!!! I still want the warmth of my mom, where she says... U r still a kid.... Oh Loved those days... Nowadays I tell my parents... Be careful... Dont strain ur self... I am there for u.. Oh!!! then i feel have i become so mature enough to now tell them things... and then i come back to my stupid self...talking junk... my mom just laughs of n says... "Love u, u r still a Kid" .... Aaaah i just love it when she says this.... Ma... I am still ur innocent Kid...and will always be...
Hmm...wish i could never grow up :D :D
PS: I know its strange...my title and post dont match... thats coz i started with one topic and ended elsewhere..

My experiences here!!!
I know its been too long and late, for this post.. but somehow felt like writing this... :)
Well, as soon as i landed here.. i felt... that my dream has come true... My dream was not to settle in US or anything ... it was just to visit another country other than India, on my own... be it from the company or for a vacation.. but it had to be me on my own... And this dream came true... I felt proud of myself... I had achieved one of my dreams...
I was even exited as i was in the US... It's always nice to explore something new... And this was more of learning exerience for me.. .as this was the first time when i wouldnt be going to mom for every small thing in life... I dint know how i would survive..
But then, as time went by, i learnt a lot of things..., i still miss my family and talk to them very frequently.
My first day in office also went on well... Different people, different culture, different environment.
Its true that, i was also amazed at things over here (like anybody else who comes here for the first time).. The roads, the cars,facilities... but ofcourse it was only to appreciate all this and never to compare it with home... Coz i feel even though there s so much here, its all superficial... Everything seems ready, from food to something else.. it sometimes feel we dont do anything on our own...
But i know its not totally true.. coz what we see here may not be true.. We dont know how people are, what they do for families!!! How they treat their loved ones. And in the environment in which i live, it's a little difficult to know them, as they seldom allow u into their personal lives...
They talk very sweetly, they are curious to know how Indians live.. They like to eat Indian food too... but then we still dunno if its fine to ask them personal questions.. Ofcourse a few of them open up themselves.. and thats how we know them a little more... And from them i got to know that they also love their loved ones, but they have induvidual lives.. They live with memories....
Well life here is good... a little different from home..., but i definetly cant live here forever.. may be a few years here.. or say come here once in a while... but settling down here... no no!!!
US might be a very gr8 country ( i dont deny that), its fascinating too... but I definetly cannot find home here.. And home is where my heart lives.. I am just exploring... and finally will land up home... to the comfort of being pampered by mom dad bro and all my loved ones :)

Meet with a friend
As i mentioned in the end of my prev post.... here is my meet with a friend...
Ok i tried to keep this a suspense.. but it dint remain a suspense for long... :) Well in case anybody hasnt yet gone to vivhyd's blog... then here it is... I met Vivhyd :) :) :) :)
Well Let me say i met Vivek. We had spoken over the phone, many times had a chat... but meeting a person is always different... Even though u have spoken to the person a lot of times... the time when u meet... u seem to be very excited.. after all meeting a person for the first time rite... So for me it was no exception.. Me n vivek had discused our plan of vacation... well in advance.. and we decided to meet in ATLANTA airport... ( i know thats not the place where ppl meet up, but we dint have any options)... I just came back to ATL from philly where i had gone for the vacation... and he was going back from Florida.., we could meet since he had a connecting flight in ATL :) We had very less time for the meeting... around half an hr or so, ... but it was good... Well how that half an flew just dint realize... we spoke for that much time (ofcourse in the meantime we went from my terminal gate to his gate... and finally when his flight boarding time came, we parted saying we would call each other....

My Trip to Washington DC & Newyork
We had a long weekend from Sep 02 - Sep 05... I had been to Washingon DC and Newyork... Both are beautiful places... One is clean and historic... and the other is crowded and the happening place :)
--------------------------------------------------
Washington DC:
Went with 5 people.. We drove from a place called Baltimore... Reached DC by 11.30... We spent nearly 15-20 mins in Parking... the car.. It was so full... We got down and and started walking towards The Washington Monument... Well it was a very long walk... There are lots n lots of museums on the way and lot of time is required to look into all these.. so we just skipped all those.. and headed towards the monument...
This monument is supposed to be the tallest in DC and it seems no other building in DC is supposed to be built taller than this... Well as we neared this building ... the feeling that we are short kept on creeping into the mind as we tried to see the tip of the builing as we neared it... our neck started paining :)
Well we took lot of pics of this monument.. from diff angles.. sun falling on one side.. shadow.. sun hiding behind the building etc etc...
The monument
After this we had lunch.. well being a veggie i had very less options... Had a piece of cheese pizza.. (of course had to say no meat 5-6 times.. just to be sure ).. After this we headed towards World War - II memorial... This has a fountain in B/w and is surrounded by pillar.. Each pillar bearing a state name of USA.. At one side is the PACIFIC and the other side is ATLANTIC... i guess these represent the two oceans... :) In b/w all this is a fountain...
The World War Memorial-II
Well i just went and sat by the fountain with my legs into the cool water... So so many cute kids playing there.. and lot of ducks too.. I was pestering my friend to take a nice pic of the cute little kid next to me.. :)
Lincoln Memorial
After 5-10 mins over there.. We headed towards the Lincoln Memorial... this was.. another long walk... But there were trees so it was not that sunny.. so i dint complain (all this while we were walking under Hot sun.. and i wanted a CAP)... we reached the place and saw (huge) Lincoln sitting on the throne (like king of the world ).. we took a few pics... And yes in front of this is a pond/lake or whatever such a water body is called.. We could see the reflection of the monument in this.. and not to mention explicitly ... it was beautiful...
Monument from the Lincoln Monument
After this (we were really tired walking) , we planned to go to The White House.. We walked and walked and finally reached the place.. but then some security issues and that day we werent allowed to go view the white house from back... So we went to the front... for which we had to walk another 10 mins... (by now i had bought a cap)... we went in front and took a few pics...
Now it was time to go to The Capitol..... where we had parked our car.. so we walked on the streets of DC.. all beautiful buildings... well i must say historic builings... public libraries.. treasure... post office... Each one of them were like monuments themselves... Finally we reached near the Capitol... and took a few more pics...
Now we were tired.. dint have energy to walk anymore.. and we had to go to Baltimore from there... And thus our trip to Washington DC came to an end.. We dint see much.. but whatever we saw in the short time.. was a treat to the eyes :)

Newyork:
In NY saw all kinds of people.. from all over the world... Its very similar to indian Streets.. full of people.. Traffic.. people just getting in everywhere.. Difference is its more bigger... and brighter with talllllllllllllll buildings and so many lights... Roaming around in NY in evening is too good...
Now let me start from the start :)
We (3 people including me) reached NY around 3 in the afternoon... We took the train to reach the street of Statue of Liberty...
we went to buy the tickets for the ferry which could take us to the little island where the statue is... but bad luck, the ferry service was over for the day.. I was very disappointed... but then may be it wasnt that bad after all... There was another service which would be just a round trip... of the statue... we went in that... it was nice... Firstly the ferry.. so that we could see NY from this far... the water just running behind us... and then a closer look of the statue.. It was nice to be there in the ocean, one side the statue and the other side NY.... hmm good feeling...:)
Well after half an hr... we were back to the land... we then went to have a look at the bull... well that bull if it comes alive.. might be very very very dangerous.... but it was fun how people were charging at the bull for pics.. oh ya!! we were no exception!!!
After this walked through the Wall Street..., we even went to see the 9/11 debris... well i havent seen the building before.. but seeing the ruins and the next building, i can surely imagine.. how gigantic the twin towers would have been....
Next we planned to go to the Empire State building... we went in the sub-way landed up in 42nd street... walked a few avenues, accidently reached the Times Square... :). by the time we went there, it was all lit up... it was good to have a look at this... was just wondering... how this place would be in the New Year time :).. Well we were running out of time, and had to visit the Empire State Building.. so we went and enquired to find that it was in the 34th street... so again we walked and reached the place in nearly 20 mins....We saw a loong Queue... We joined the queue wondering how long its gonna be...
Empire State building from the ground...
There was a combo offer of the observatory and the sky-ride... Well sky-ride was not that good.. it was just a video with graphics and we were seated on a rollar coaster kind of stuff..., so that we could feel that we have gone for a sky ride in NY... after this we went to the observatory... oh the view from the 86th floor... was AMAZING!!!... well thats not the right word... may be i could say SPECTACULAR!!!... well i dunno!!! i am just not getting the right words... It was MIND BLOWING!!!... NY looked so bright and wonderful!!!... I guess half an hr went there just looking down from the top and taking pics...
Now that we came down, we were tired and hungry..., just went and ate something...Well to eat.. i had to struggle... I had fruit-salad, fries n coke... The whole time the common thing in my food was Fries and Coke... I wouldnt have lived without them :)
----------------------------------------
Well... Monday i dint roam that much... but yes surely met one of my friends... But i would like to have a new post for that :).. and who the friend is is a suspense till my next post...
