My experiences here!!!

I know its been too long and late, for this post.. but somehow felt like writing this... :)

Well, as soon as i landed here.. i felt... that my dream has come true... My dream was not to settle in US or anything ... it was just to visit another country other than India, on my own... be it from the company or for a vacation.. but it had to be me on my own... And this dream came true... I felt proud of myself... I had achieved one of my dreams...

I was even exited as i was in the US... It's always nice to explore something new... And this was more of learning exerience for me.. .as this was the first time when i wouldnt be going to mom for every small thing in life... I dint know how i would survive..
But then, as time went by, i learnt a lot of things..., i still miss my family and talk to them very frequently.

My first day in office also went on well... Different people, different culture, different environment.

Its true that, i was also amazed at things over here (like anybody else who comes here for the first time).. The roads, the cars,facilities... but ofcourse it was only to appreciate all this and never to compare it with home... Coz i feel even though there s so much here, its all superficial... Everything seems ready, from food to something else.. it sometimes feel we dont do anything on our own...

But i know its not totally true.. coz what we see here may not be true.. We dont know how people are, what they do for families!!! How they treat their loved ones. And in the environment in which i live, it's a little difficult to know them, as they seldom allow u into their personal lives...

They talk very sweetly, they are curious to know how Indians live.. They like to eat Indian food too... but then we still dunno if its fine to ask them personal questions.. Ofcourse a few of them open up themselves.. and thats how we know them a little more... And from them i got to know that they also love their loved ones, but they have induvidual lives.. They live with memories....
Well life here is good... a little different from home..., but i definetly cant live here forever.. may be a few years here.. or say come here once in a while... but settling down here... no no!!!

US might be a very gr8 country ( i dont deny that), its fascinating too... but I definetly cannot find home here.. And home is where my heart lives.. I am just exploring... and finally will land up home... to the comfort of being pampered by mom dad bro and all my loved ones :)

hi art
how are you?

well what a touching post you have written..

makes me miss more my home..ahhhh nostalgia..

///as this was the first time when i wouldnt be going to mom for every small thing in life... I dint know how i would survive..//

You know it is an ambiguous feeling..for the one hand you are happy that you are realizing your individuality but on the other hand everything done individually comes out with reponsibilities n at some point of time..you really wish you could be just a small little kid..n get all the cares n be pampered n spoiled for some considerable time..for that touch of care of our parents is something we can never get enough i guess..

nice post..

ahhhh i am missing home...

Arathy,

Infact when I came back to india from a very short official trip (just 5 days)... I was telling few of my friends about how I felt about the US... I think it's a nice place to visit but i don't think I would wanna stay there for long is all that I to say.

But the response from most of them (all of them settled in UK or the US) about the places they live was very positive. Not only have they got accustomed to that lifestyle, they have also learnt to live without mom/dad/siblings...

Maybe it takes time for things to sink in. But for people like you and me, I am sure there is no place like home. What say ?

Welcome to the US

Hmm quite understandable for a person who lived here for just about 2 months. Actually a typical desi feeling that says I will go home just after a few years. No wonder how we all get into the Plus One Syndrome. It is always at the back of every desis mind that home is where the heart is but then I guess this country is so great, you will love your life here as you start living over time. Ask me 22 years @ home and all of a sudden one year and 3 months in the US and yes today i really dont know if i want to relocate to the most wonderful city Namma Bengaluru. I dont see that happening anytime soon. Believe me the values, independence, financial shrewdness this country teaches you is great.

Dont even bother about when u will go home, coz one day when u really feel like you will. Till then go around the americas and enjoy your stay here. It sure is a fantastic place to live and visit.

Akanksha,
I am doing pretty good here. I always wish i was a small kid and always with my mom being pampered a lot...;)

Somu,
Very true... It depends on people really. This is a place which can rule over ur senses with many nice things... But if u want more of family and then its obviously home, which is back in India... Here its nice being for a little time and then return...

Gayathri,
:)

Krish,
Its fun exploring here...

Akshay,
Well... i totally agree that this country is amazing and offers u a lot of things... But finally it depends on the person... I am extremely attached to my family... So all this beauty is nice to enjoy for a while... a few months or may be 1 or 2 years but settling down here forever..not my piece of cake :)[talking abt cake coz i am eating one rite now :)]
Well..it surely is good to be here for some time when u want to be independent etc etc...so i guess even after an year i would say the same... :)

Raj,
Sure... by the way what was it Good or Bad??

Chennai Pages,
well i already know it, this place wouldnt allow me to forget this fact...
